Creative Compounding Center is located in Imlay City, a quarter mile north of Imlay City Road on M-53.

The Owner and Registered Pharmacist Gerald DuFresne said "Our pharmacy is quite different from your regular pharmacy. We have a state-of-the art lab where we make our specialized prescriptions for the individual human or animal". Different patients have different needs. Not only can Creative Compounding Center create individual doses, but transform tablets and capsules into a liquid form for the patient who has problems swallowing pills. The liquid medications can also be flavored with one of over 50 different flavors such as pina colada, cotton candy or something as simple as strawberry or grape.

Other medications can also be transformed into topical rather that oral dosages, such as ibuprofen made into a cream for arthritis. You can apply it to the area instead of taking it and getting an upset stomach.

For children, we make rapid-dissolve tablets, a lollipop or gummy bears with the medication in it.

For patients with allergies, Creative Compounding can create prescriptions that use different fillers and can be dye and preservative free if that is what the patient needs.

Creative compounding also specializes in prescriptions for pets. Dogs and Cats use a lot of human medications in smaller strengths. Animal medications are made in capsule, topical, or liquid forms and they also flavor the liquids with delicious flavors.

Creative Compounding has two Hormone Consultants on staff: Cheryl DuFresne and Connie Macgregor, R.N. Our pharmacy offers an individualized approach with bioidentical hormones that are exactly what your body produces. It's ideal for women who want to avoid synthetic estrogens and progestins. They offer seminars several times a year on Bioidential Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT). The seminars are an excellent opportunity for women to become more educated.
